DFZ Architekten designed a modern building with a communicative spatial structure. The Start-up Labs Bahrenfeld offers office space as well as complex laboratory and workshop rooms.

Start-up Labs Bahrenfeld is an incubator for research start-ups with a physical or bio-physical background. These "deep-tech start-ups" not only need modern offices, fast internet and a good, start-up-friendly environment. They need complex laboratory and workshop space in order to manufacture their innovative high-tech products. At Start-up Labs Bahrenfeld, they will find everything they need in one place.

The infrastructure of the Start-up Labs Bahrenfeld, which is a joint facility of DESY, the University of Hamburg and the City of Hamburg, offers the ideal conditions for young companies in this field to grow and establish themselves on the market.

Diversity and inclusion

Architectural accents define the spaces for meetings and exchanges in the Start-up Labs Bahrenfeld. A tactile guidance system provides orientation within the building for blind and visually impaired people. It ensures that everyone can participate in the transfer of research work into the economy.
