The research campus in Science City is home to three of Germany's most important particle accelerators, which were conceived and built under the leadership of DESY: FLASH, PETRA III and European XFEL. The planned successor to PETRA III, PETRA IV, represents the future of research facilities with high-brilliance X-ray light beams.
