You can test innovative DeepTech product ideas in the makerspace. The equipment includes workstations for electronics, 3D printing, mechanics and office space. The offer is aimed at (pre-)founders and start-ups and can be used for transfer and collaboration projects from the research environment. research environment. Start-up Labs Hamburg offers innovative deep-tech start-ups exclusive office, laboratory and workshop space for rent in three buildings covering a total of 4,500 square meters. The companies are not only provided with ideal spatial conditions in an architecturally attractive building. They also have access to workshops, coaching sessions, networking events and a connection to the research campus to develop their company in the ecosystem in the best possible way.

Get comprehensive advice and support on research questions from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory

EMBL Hamburg offers advice on your research question, experiment design and data analysis. The EMBL-Beamline P12 allows the investigation by macromolecular crystallography MX. The Centre for X-ray and Nano Science offers state-of-the-art laboratory facilities

The Helmholtz center Hereon traditionally works with industry, authorities and other institutions on the basis of flexible cooperation agreements or contracts. Hereon also operates the user platform "German Engineering Material Science Center", or GEMS for short. GEMS offers special services for partners who use the unique capabilities of photons (synchrotron radiation) and neutrons.

The tecHHub is located on the grounds of the innovation park Altona in the northernmost area of Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld.

Construction of the DESY Innovation Factory started in Science City in November 2024. With two locations - centrally located on the DESY campus and at Innovationspark Altona on Vorhornweg - the integrated technology and start-up center will offer an outstanding research infrastructure for start-ups, scale-ups and companies that is unique in Germany. A creative and lively place that brings together bright minds from basic research, applied research and industry to jointly bring new innovative products and services into application. In over 8,500 square meters of work space, a lively research and start-up network is being created in the heart of Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld , where people are working together on sustainable solutions for future issues with enormous social relevance.
