Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld
Neighborhood development

The Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld will provide tens of thousands of people with a place to work and study as well as a home with housing options for a wide range of groups, including students and academics. It is not being built on a greenfield site, but will be integrated into existing urban structures. Each individual location and each individual idea is important for this - but in the end, it is the interaction that counts. That is why the districts are being carefully developed with many aspects and interests in mind.

Key objectives for neighborhood development

Modern urban planning does not take place "on the drawing board" takes place. It is a process in which new topics and impulses are constantly being incorporated. Interested parties can get involved in a variety of ways.

Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld GmbH is responsible for the overall coordination of development measures in Hamburg's new knowledge district. Its activities are geared towards the common key objectives of networking science and the city, housing for all, a green city (biodiverse and climate-adapted), a vibrant neighborhood, future-oriented mobility, sustainability and energy supply
