Bahrenfeld. The tecHHub, which specializes in biological and chemical wet laboratories, was opened here in 2024 as the first milestone. Further space will be available in future for companies specializing in research and development in the fields of structural research, life sciences, nano and laser technology, materials science and quantum computing.

DESY Innovation Factory is also planning one of two locations at Innovationspark Altona . The space on offer is aimed at start-ups, scale-ups and companies from basic research that bring together applied research and industry in order to jointly bring new innovative products and services into application. Over 8,500 square meters of workspace will be created at Innovationspark and directly at DESY-Kernareal by 2027
