The pioneering project in the north of Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld in the immediate vicinity of the DESY

The Innovationspark Altona is intended to provide space for innovative companies, create jobs and strengthen the innovation network of the anchor institutions DESY and the University of Hamburg. The park set its first milestone in 2024 with the opening of the tecHHub Hamburg, which specializes in biological and chemical wet laboratories.

Planning for the DESY Innovation Factory II, which focuses on physical laboratories, are already in full swing. These facilities offer start-ups, spin-off initiatives and young companies a space for development and networking. The aim of Hamburg Invest in developing the innovation park Altona is to attract innovative companies in collaboration with other municipal partners in order to retain and create as many new and high-quality jobs as possible in Hamburg.

At Innovationspark Altona , there are numerous spaces available for companies specializing in research and development in the fields of structural research, life sciences, nano and laser technology, materials science and quantum computing. With facilities such as the research center Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), the University of Hamburg and pioneering institutions such as the X-ray laser research facility XFEL and PETRA, the region has become a magnet for first-class research and innovation.
