The Center for Optical Quantum Technologies (ZOQ) is an interdisciplinary research building that combines research focuses from quantum, ultrafast and nanophysics and thus harnesses synergies from different areas of physics in a combination that is unique worldwide.
Eleven research groups from various institutes are working on making ultracold quantum matter, many-particle and hybrid quantum systems technologically usable. ZOQ is closely involved in the Cluster of Excellence "CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter". Research at ZOQ contributes to a better understanding of the dynamics of quantum systems and aims to build modern quantum simulators and quantum computers to answer questions that classical computers are currently unable to solve.
