At a time when scientific breakthroughs are driving innovation, it is crucial to build a more efficient bridge between theory and practice. In this year's Cross Innovation Lab, the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY addressed the question of how findings from basic research can be transferred to application-oriented research and practice more quickly and in a more targeted manner. What structures, mechanisms and collaborations do we need to strengthen the dialog and exchange between science and industry? And which implementation scenarios based on social challenges will result from this?
At the Cross Innovation Lab 2024, scientists from DESY got up close and personal with creatives from the Cross Innovation Hub. When different ways of thinking and working come together, the main result is tension and friction - and often something special in the end. At the Cross Innovation Lab's final pitch, we present the results of the intensive process and provide exciting insights into the transfer worlds.
Lynn Harles, board member of the German Society for Design Theory and Research (DGTF), founder of the freelance design research lab "Studio Harles" and doctoral candidate at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, will give a keynote speech at the event on "Transfer strategies at the interface of science and creativity"
