The Innovationspark Altona is a future-oriented quarter that creates workspaces as well as space for public uses. First floor areas will also allow for public, non-scientific uses in order to promote a close connection with the surrounding neighborhood. The new urban building block is integrated into the Lurup environment in terms of urban development and strengthens identification with the district.

The next step is to draw up the design guidelines for the building construction. The district delegation will again be involved in this process. At the same time, the open space planning competition will be prepared and then carried out.

What the function chart regulates

The winning design by the planning team superwien urbanism and DnD Landschaftsplanung was drawn up in consultation with specialist planners, the committee including the district politicians and the district delegation and presented to the public as a functional plan in April 2025.

This was approved by the Altona district's urban development committee in May 2025 and now forms the script for the further development of the area.

The functional plan basically regulates the planned location and size of the buildings, their spatial arrangement and the design of access and open spaces. Two planned neighborhood garages promote a low-car inner development, where the parked car traffic is to be accommodated.

The new planning will create a real green center that will have a lasting effect on the climate and the quality of stay. Possible public uses on the first floor along Luruper Hauptstraße and towards the green center create a connecting effect to the district.
