Dialog for the function block diagram
In the immediate vicinity of DESY-Kernareal and Campus West , Innovationspark Altona offers space for companies that benefit from the unique combination of research, teaching and innovation. In order to unite the diverse requirements and visions for the area, a functional plan is being developed as an urban development specification. In 2024, HIE Hamburg Invest Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG invited all interested parties to a workshop process. Here you could look over the shoulders of the urban planners and architects as they worked. As part of two events, the concept approaches were first presented in April 2024 and the dialog with the competition teams was opened. The final public presentation of the three functional planning designs took place in September 2024.
A look over the shoulder into the process
As part of the kick-off workshop in April 2024, the selected three planning teams of urban planners, landscape planners and architects had the opportunity to landscape planners and architects to look over their shoulders and discuss their initial conceptual approaches.
Final public presentation
In September 2024, 60 - 70 interested parties attended the final public presentation on functional planning to view and assess the final design drafts of the three planning teams.
The overarching topics of the discussion included the quality and dimensions of the planned development and its integration into the surroundings and networking with existing green space structures. The development structure and the concept for phased development were also discussed. However, various detailed aspects were also discussed, such as the design of the entrance area, how to deal with trees and bends that need to be protected and the retention of rainwater.
Functional plan 2025
The final functional plan, which will form the basis for the subsequent open space planning competition, is to be drawn up in 2025.
