Many properties of our world have their origin in movements of the building blocks in the nanocosmos.
DESY 's supercameras have recently made it possible not only to decipher the structure of matter, but also to marvel at the fascinating dance of electrons. These small and very fast particles are largely responsible for everything that surrounds us. They are so fast that we are only just on the threshold of being able to film their movements.
One of the most exciting challenges of science is to catch snapshots of them at work, to understand them better and thereby explore useful applications for our society.
