What should theAltona Innovationspark look like in the future?

All interested parties and the specially formed district delegation of Lurup residents were actively involved in the planning process right from the start of the urban planning workshop process in April 2024. In September 2024, the three planning teams involved presented their final designs to the public. The committee then unanimously selected a winning design with the participation of the district delegation. Now the time has come: the resulting functional plan will be presented - and will be unveiled to the public on Tuesday, April 8.

The HIE Hamburg Invest Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (HIE) invites all interested parties to take part in the public presentation of the functional plan for theAltona Innovationspark .

The presentation of the functional plan offers the opportunity to gain concrete insights into the planned development of the new innovation park. It will illustrate how the planned buildings and open spaces are to be integrated into the existing environment. Initial approaches to newly designed green spaces for all citizens or for the spatial design along the main road Luruper Hauptstraße will also be presented and participants will be given the opportunity to ask questions about the project. The functional plan will subsequently serve as the basis for the open space planning competition.

Background to the project Innovationspark Altona

TheAltona Innovationspark in the west of Hamburg forms the northern prelude to Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld (SCHB) and is a key component of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg's innovation strategy. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the renowned Bahrenfeld research campus. With facilities such as the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY) research center, the University of Hamburg and pioneering institutions such as the XFEL X-ray laser research facility and PETRA, the region has become a magnet for first-class research and innovation. By bringing together science, business and the community, the park aims to create a sustainable ecosystem in the future that promotes innovation and creates jobs. The Innovationspark Altona is playing a key role in establishing Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld as a world-leading location for research and innovation and positioning the city's future as a pioneer in these fields.

Initiator of the Altona Innovation Park

HIE Hamburg Invest Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG was founded as a municipal company in October 2017 to develop and sell commercial/industrial properties in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg on a permanent basis or to grant leaseholds. HIE's aim in developing the Altona Innovation Park is to attract innovative companies to theAltona Innovationspark in cooperation with other municipal partners such as the district of Altona in order to retain and create as many new and high-quality jobs as possible in Hamburg, thus further strengthening Hamburg as a future location for innovation.
